Samira Salman has nearly 10 years of experience in corporate America.  As an international corporate and tax attorney, Samira excels at identification of legal, tax, and structuring issues and can quickly resolve pending items.  Samira has worked for several public accounting firms and a multi-national oil company.  This diverse, yet structured experience provided her extensive training in consulting, client development, and stakeholder management.  Additionally, Samira is well informed, well-read, and constantly expanding her knowledge base.

Samira has over 15 years in leadership positions in various community organizations.  Her extensive community and professional involvement has fostered a robust and diverse professional and social network.  This network provides a solid foundation for business development, matchmaking, and positioning of strategic alliances.  Most recently, Samira serves on the Board of the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, FreshArts Coalition, the Bilateral U.S. Arab Chamber of Commerce, and is Vice-Chair of the Energy and Environmental Taxes Committee of the American Bar Association.

Life Experiences

Samira has over 10 years “living off the economy” overseas in developing countries, and attending boarding school in Europe.  This diverse and varied upbringing instilled a natural curiosity for a multitude of ideas and ways of doing things.  Samira was raised exposed to and accepting of different cultures, norms, and ways of doing business.

Charities/Pro Bono/Community

Samira has a very strong sense of service and has always been involved in her community, even at a very young age.  Currently, Samira is on the Board of the Bilateral U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce, a Board member of Fresh Arts Coalition, an active member of the Houston Ballet Guild, a member of the Krewe of Muses – New Orleans Mardi Gras Krewe, on the Houston Steering Committee of LSU 2006-2010 Capital Campaign, and the past Treasurer of the Houston – Abu Dhabi Sister City Association.  This strong sense of community and desire to give back and help those less fortunate provides Samira with a sense of personal satisfaction and commitment, necessary to achieve balance in her professional life.

Education/Certifications/Organizations

Samira holds a Masters of Law in Taxation from the University of Houston Law Center, a J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, a B.S. in Business Administration (International Trade and Finance) from Louisiana State University, and a high school diploma from The American School In Switzerland.  She is licensed to practice law in Texas, Louisiana, and before the U.S. Tax Court.  Currently, Samira is the Vice-Chair of Energy & Environmental Taxes Committee of the American Bar Association, a Board Member of the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, and a member of the Houston Bar Association Membership and Gender Fairness Committees.  Samira was involved in the following publications and speeches:
